Who we are

The Kenyan Schools Directory (kenyanschools.org) is a free public data resource for secondary schools in Kenya. Contact: contact@kenyanschools.org.

School data we publish

Profiles list information about institutions (names, counties, tiers, public contact details when known, citations). We aim to publish only publicly available facts. Suggest corrections via Contribute or GitHub issues.

Information you send us

• Suggestions & evidence — field edits, optional name, message, and file uploads (stored for moderation).
• Contributor applications — name, email, GitHub username, and answers you provide so we can review your request.
• Support / email — if you write to us, we keep the correspondence needed to respond.

Cookies & analytics

• Necessary — consent preference (ds_consent) and any cookies required for the site to function.
• Optional analytics — only after you accept. First-party page-view events may be sent to our fleet analytics endpoint (no Google Ads / GA4 by default). You can choose “Necessary only” on the banner.
• Theme preference — may be stored locally in the browser for display preferences.

Hosting & processors

The site is hosted on Vercel. Contribution data may use Neon (Postgres) and Cloudflare R2 (evidence files). Email may use Resend when configured. Processors act under their own privacy terms for infrastructure services.

Retention

Moderated suggestions and applications are kept as long as needed for the directory and contributor program. You may request deletion of personal details you submitted by emailing us with enough context to locate the record.

Children

This directory is for general public information about schools. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for marketing.

Changes

We may update this page as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
